École des Pionniers-de-Maillardville

Port Coquitlam

Since École des Pionniers opened, it has committed to offering a personalized education to its students in a safe and secure environment. The teaching staff values the francophone culture and the French language and offers school activities and educational field trips that are interesting and varied.

The CSF and the Fédération des parents francophones’ claim before the Supreme Court of British Columbia:

Obtain a new kindergarten to grade 12 school able to accommodate at least 660 students, on the current École des Pionniers site, which is large enough to allow for future enrolment growth.

Court’s decision:

The CSF and the Fédération des parents francophones succeeded in settling the matter concerning Port Coquitlam prior to the judge rendering her decision. A new school capable of accommodating 660 students (100 students more than initially proposed by the government in 2013, when the project was approved) is currently under construction.

Current project

Construction to be completed in summer 2019 from the seismic envelope.
